Mr. Kevin Wiland - Principal

After a brief career in technology in the Silicon Valley, Kevin Wiland followed his passion to make a difference in the lives and futures of children. His journey in education began in 1999 as a math and Computer Science teacher at Glenbrook South High School in Glenview, IL.  After eight years of teaching, he transitioned into administration, where he held roles as a math department chair, dean, and K-12 Math Coordinator, overseeing 41,000 students across 56 schools. Prior to joining Zion-Benton District 126 in 2024, Mr. Wiland served as the Assistant Principal of Operations at Morton West High School in Berwyn, IL.

Mr. Wiland holds a bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, a master's degree in Curriculum & Instruction from Loyola University, and an Educational Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Concordia University.

Mr. Mike Isaacs - Asst. Principal

A class of 2004 ZB graduate, Mr. Mike Isaacs has served Zion-Benton Township High School District #126 in various roles since 2009. Mr. Isaacs received his Bachelor's degree from Northern Illinois University in 2009, a Master's degree in Educational Technology from the American College of Education in 2012, and most recently received a Master's in School Administration: The Principalship in 2022 from Northeastern Illinois University. 

In his time with the district, Mr. Isaacs has contributed in many roles: Physical Education and Health teacher at Zion-Benton, ZAP, and Zion-Benton East, and the District Human Resources Manager during the 2022-23 school year, and now he serves as the Assistant Principal for Operations and Academics at Zion-Benton East High. Additionally, Mr. Isaacs coached in the boys’ volleyball program for 13 total years, of which he served as the Varsity coach for 6 years where in 2021 he led the team that captured the second regional championship in program history.

Mr. Isaacs, with his wife Elizabeth, have two wonderful sons; Ryan and Jacob. The Isaacs family loves to play soccer and baseball, go camping, and have movie nights with lots of popcorn.
